Faculty and Staff Giving at SOU
The faculty and staff at SOU are the heart of the University. Thousands of students have grown accustomed to a positive, personal learning environment due to the work of SOU's faculty and staff. Whether through time, effort, ideas, or energy, SOU is a better place through their dedication and service.
The SOU Annual Fund gives every member of our community an opportunity to make a financial commitment. Participation helps show Raider pride, and can also act as a catalyst to inspire gifts from friends of SOU. “Friends” includes alumni, parents, and businesses.
Most importantly, faculty and staff participation helps provide resources to different areas within the University.

Q: I already give my time and talents to SOU, isn't that enough?
A: The faculty and staff giving program does not suggest, in any way, that you don't already give enough to SOU through your daily service. Participation in the program is going above and beyond the work you already contribute. It is an opportunity to make a financial investment in the place you have already invested in personally.

Q: How can I make a gift?
A: There are several easy ways to make a gift which include:
- Payroll Deduction - By having an amount deducted from your earnings each pay period, you can make a significant difference to the area of your choice. A gift of $10.00/per month adds up to $120 a year; and so on. To make a gift via payroll deduction, simply download, complete, and return the Payroll Deduction Authorization Form (PDF) to the SOU Foundation.
- Outright Gift - You can also make an outright gift via check made payable to the SOU Foundation or credit card. The SOU Foundation accepts VISA, Mastercard, Discover, and American Express.

One of the greatest gifts you can make to SOU is that of flexibility. Unrestricted gifts to the SOU Annual Fund allows the University to meet emergency needs not covered by other sources of funding. |

Q: Will I be recognized for my gift?
A: After your gift is received and processed, you will be sent a special letter of thanks and a gift receipt. Any public recognition given in the Annual President’s Report will be your decision.

Q: Is it possible to stop a payroll deduction gift once it has started?
A: Yes. If you wish to stop making a gift through payroll deduction, please contact both the Payroll Office at (541) 552-8506 and the SOU Foundation Office at (541) 552-6127.
